USCIS extends Temporary Protected Status for El Salvador

On July 8, 2016, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the extension of the designation of El Salvador for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for eighteen months from September 10, 2016 through March 9, 2018. There is a 60-day re-registration period that runs from July 8, 2016 through September 6, 2016. The extension allows currently eligible TPS beneficiaries to retain TPS through March 9, 2018, if they continue to meet the TPS eligibility requirements. More information on where to file initial registration or re-registration can be found here.
