Kelly worked as a domestic violence advocate at a non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon prior to joining Becker & Lee LLP in 2020. While working in this role, she became passionate about legal advocacy, supporting immigrant and refugee domestic violence survivors to navigate the complex immigration legal system. Kelly uses trauma-informed care in her work with clients and believes that compassionate legal counsel is often a precondition to healing from trauma. Kelly graduated from Lewis & Clark College in 2018 with a double major in Sociology/ Cultural Anthropology and Hispanic Studies. Kelly speaks English and Spanish and attended a K-8 bilingual immersion school. In addition, she studied abroad in Chile and worked in Nicaragua during college. Kelly grew up in San Jose, California and is happy to have returned to the Bay Area and be serving community members in the place she grew up.
