On October 24, 2013, President Obama urged Congress to prioritize immigration reform and pass a bill by the end of the year. A day earlier, the GOP Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner, said he was “hopeful” that immigration reform could happen by the end of 2013. Politico is reporting that Representative Darrell Issa (Rep – California) announced that he will introduce an immigration reform bill in the House of Representatives. Issa’s bill is the first bill this year to originate in the House of Representatives that would provide lawful immigration status to the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.
