2014 H-1B Season is Here: Start Early to Avoid the Rush

On April 1, 2014 the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will begin accepting cap-subject H-1B petitions.  H-1B petitions should be filed by April 1,

2014 for an October 1, 2014 start date.  Only a certain number of cap-subject H-1Bs are available each year.  Last year there were more H-1B visas filed than the allocated number of visas allowed per year.  Consequently, not every H-1B visa that was filed was accepted for processing.  Due to improvements in the economy in 2013 and the fact that the cap was filled the first part of April last year, it is wise for employers to start preparing H-1Bs as early as possible to assure an April 1, 2014 filing.

H-1Bs require considerable preparation.  Attorneys at Becker & Lee LLP have already started working on H-1B petitions that will be filed on April 1, 2014.  In order to avoid rushed filings, we suggest starting as soon as possible.
