On April 1, 2013 the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will begin accepting cap-subject H-1B visa petitions. H-1B petitions should be filed by April 1, 2013 for an October 1, 2013 start date. Only a certain amount of cap-subject H-1Bs are available each year. Due to improvements in the economy and the speed at which the cap was filled last year, it is wise for employers to start preparing H-1Bs as early as possible to assure an April 1, 2013 filing.
H-1Bs require considerable preparation. Attorneys at Becker & Lee LLP have already started working on H-1B visa petitions that will be filed on April 1, 2013. In order to avoid rushed filings, we suggest starting as soon as possible.
